IIC-MHRD

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education’s(MoE’s) Innovation Cell. Institute registered under Institutional Innovation Council with ID IC202115962. IIC is under MHRD providing opportunities to showcase innovations in the institute. The aim of the IIC is to foster a culture of innovation and a startup ecosystem in higher education institutions (HEIs). IIC’s role is to engage a large number of faculty, student, and staff in various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities such as Ideation, Problem-solving, Design Thinking, IPR, Project handling, and management at the Preincubation/Incubation stage etc so that innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem gets established and stabilized in HEIs.

St.Joseph's College for Women, Alappuzha has created an ecosystem for innovation and the cultivation of ideas among students and faculty. The college has an MHRD-recognized Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) which functions as per the norms of the Government of India. After its establishment in 2021-2022, the activities of IEDC, YIP, and ED Club were brought under the IIC platform. The college provides technical support and facilities for the incubation of ideas. Kickstart incubation center provides support for submitting ideas to different government and institution's ideation fest programs.
